Project Description

Benjamin W. Ong

Assistant Professor, Mathematical Sciences

Research Interests

  • High-order, parallel numerical methods for solving partial differential equations, including tackling challenges in exa-scale scientific computing and the modeling and simulations of plasma.

Ben received his B.Sc. from the Physics Department at Simon Fraser University, followed by a PhD from the Mathematics Department at Simon Fraser. After his graduation, he worked as a research assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University, and a research consultant, and later the Director of Research at the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research at Michigan State University. He is excited to join the faculty ranks in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Michigan Technological University.
